Time: 9:30-3:30

Place/ location: Carlton-Kogarah Baptist Church

63 Wilison road, Carlton Sydney NSW 2218

For many years now the importance of attachment has featured in the psychological literature and now in everyday life. As our attachments become healthier, it leads to greater thriving in our lives.

This day retreat will focus on healing our attachments, to ourselves, to others and to God (spirituality), through some core principles of rest (both physical but more importantly, psychological rest) and play. We will examine what healthy attachment to self, others and God looks like. We will explore how play, which Dr Gordon Neufeld (Neufeld Institute - Neufeld Institute) calls ‘activated rest’ and creativity are natural ‘circuit resets’ for our nervous system, taking us beyond just surviving, to thriving.

This retreat will have experiential components, with time for deep reflection as well as experimenting with play/creativity.

Presenter: Dr Ruth McConnell (PhD Counselling Psychology, MA Psychology/Social Anthropology, Professional Associate of the Neufeld Institute, Neuro-psychotherapy practitioner)

Co-hosted with Lindy Hadges (Grad Dip Rel. Clin. Sup. Mast. Coun.)
